WEBINAR DATE:
Thursday, October 15, 2020
TIME: 12pm-  2pm PDT

Maintaining an environment in which both employees and patients feel respected is essential for a productive dental practice. According to California law, employers have an affirmative duty to create a work environment that is free from sexual harassment and discrimination. This webinar not only fulfills the California training requirements for dental practices with five or more employees, it also provides a road map for preventing sexual harassment and creating a respectful work environment. The course provides one hour of training for employees and two hours of training for employees with supervisory duties, as required by California laws AB 1825, AB 2053, SB 396, and SB 1343.

Topics covered during the webinar include:

  • Definition of sexual harassment
  • Other forms of unlawful harassment and discrimination
  • Remedies available to victims of sexual harassment under both California and federal laws
  • Abusive conduct in the workplace
  • Strategies for preventing and responding to unlawful harassment
  • Employee and employer responsibilities
  • Requirements for developing harassment, discrimination, and retaliation policies and procedures
This is one webinar that is a total of two hours in length.

The first hour is for all team members of the practice and content includes Preventing Sexual Harassment and Abusive Conduct in the Dental Setting.  After completion of the first hour, anyone not in a supervisory or management position will exit the webinar.

After the facilitator ensures that the only supervisory and management attendees remain the webinar training will continue with the second hour content of Creating a Respectful Environment for Employees and Patients in the Dental Setting.
